Modern Aesthetics: A Controversial Relationship Between Cosmetic Surgeries and Low Self-Esteem

At the general entertainment space, almost each celebrity has had a surgery if not two for various aesthetics reasons. Medically, people should only have surgeries if their lives cannot function normally without them. However, the current generation is skipping this fact and going for body reconstructive surgeries for modern aesthetics. Most celebrities who have had undergone body reconstructive surgeries such as breast resizing, liposuction, and BBL have denied the real reason why they make this sacrifice. Most say that they did them for medical reasons, to improve their health, and only a few admit that question of low self-esteem. However, aesthetics doctor and managing director TIA Clinic Dr. Arshni Malde confirm that lack of self-acceptance is a major reason why people go for body constructive surgeries. So, what does that mean for her customers?

Low Self-Esteem as a Cause for Surgeries

People who do cosmetic surgeries often lack the confidence in how they look in general or not happy about most of their body parts. A great example of this is Pritty Vishy, a Kenyan Youtuber who has so far undergone two cosmetic surgeries to reconstruct her figure. Unlike most celebrities, Pritty was public on her level of low self-esteem. She often called herself ugly in her posts. Henceforth, she has shown a higher level of self-esteem after the two surgeries. Other celebrities like Sandra Dacha who are currently using Ozempic to lose weight under TIA Clinic have never admitted to having low self-esteem. In the past, she has said she needed to lose weight but never for her self-esteem.

The Exposure Take

How then would the confirmation of low self-esteem by Dr. Malde make her clients feel? So far, it is clear that there is a direct correlation between body reconstructive surgeries and self-esteem. Dr. Malde, speaking on Citizen TV has confirmed that it is less of improving physical well-being and more of inner well-being, specifically self-esteem. So, would that make her clients shy off from getting these surgeries, which would confirm that they have low self-esteem? The answer is not quite. Most of these celebrities are desperate for confidence and would not mind being judged by the society or even the doctors fixing the so long as they become better inwardly.

Public Opinion

Celebrity followers divide on the question of cosmetic surgeries. As some agree with the need to do whatever that is important to improve self confidence, other feel that one should develop self-acceptance from within. When Pritty Vishy did the second surgery few weeks ago, one of her follower wondered whether Vishy felt God did a mistake with her. One Obilo Junior said, So God din’t get correct answer you have to correct him? Eventually, most of Pritty followers are coming to the fact that she is working on her inner well-being, hence supports her.
